I'm probably going to be shutting up shop here in mid October for several reasons. One, social media is drastically changing and internet boards are falling by the wayside. Two, I haven't been happy with Wix as a hosting site. And, it may not be their fault. A lot is going on behind the scenes in the tech world and smaller businesses are being shut out. Conservative and Libertarian voices are being shut out. When I can't even download a video on my own site because of content, something is definitely wrong.
Three has to do with time. The older I get, the more precious time gets. There are other chapters in my life starting, and sometimes you have to turn the page. For the time being I'll still be working my YouTube channels - Lionquest Fitness and Lionquest Exercise; also my Patreon channel.
I've had a lot of deaths in my family over the last couple of years, and the recent passing of an uncle who a minister has got me thinking in a different direction. I lived with my uncle and aunt during my turbulent teen years and through my adult life he'd always been a directing mentor of sorts. "Greg, you don't need to be doing this," or "Greg you're doing good in what you are doing." I never realized the steady Christian influence of his life had had so much of an effect on my own until he passed.
So feel free to give your comments, and I thank all who have participated here over the years.
Greg we love the forum; but your needs and your family come first. I wish you all the best.
I'm sorry that your forum is going. I visited it on occasion and enjoyed your exercise videos. Best wishes to you and your loved ones. AOS
first of all sorry for all your loses. i can relate, years ago i lose my first wife when iwas 48,it took me a long time to get over it,after that i lost my two grandmothers and uncle.some friends at work were killed.in the last 5 years lost both parents.now i am married again for 6 years.it will get better.i know you got your reasons for quitting your forum, but don't.we need conversative christians to stand up against the satianic liberal media.still i am sorry for your problems.
i would like to meet you,the house should be finished in six months.can not wait to be back in the hills.
Yes, it is very sad to hear that, Greg. You are one of the few admins who are honest with forum members, and who do not have any commercial interests to promote own goods or books. You are a great man, and I was happy to be a member of your team.
i hate your giving up your forum, its my favorite.we are having a house built in travelers rest.be there in 6 months.used to live in hendersonville nc.we tried the beach and am tried of hurricanes.this is the last hurricane season, and will be going back to the hill country.maybe i see you up there.
Sad news, “life is what happens while you are busy making other plans” my favorite John Lennon quote. Your site and videos have been a great source information and inspiration. Thanks for all that.
Stay fit for the life you live and stay in touch. Do no harm, stay safe, make sure everyone comes home.
Always your friend GB – Gary Bowes.
Ed - that was a very thoughtful response. Thank you.
I think all the regulars will miss this Forum; but family comes first Greg and you are a family man. God bless you my friend and your family.
So it makes it difficult for others to share stuff. You know this guy says this training is the only way to exercise if you want certain results. Everyone knows that science is not mymy forte but I lilike reading it. It's a shame some guys have to push their agenda and what everyone does is no good.
Some people like what they do so much they think everyone else is wrong and there way is the only way.
To add to what Pierini wrote. A forum is where people should share ideas.
Well said Pierini! How will one know about your book?
Hi Greg, Pierini here.
Just want to give you a shout and thank you for your fine effort the past several years with your forum. I understand your decision. As a blogger for over 10 years, I've had "on again and off again" episodes with my writing journey. Nothing is cast in stone, including how we spend our time with the limited time resources we have. Things change. So long as we're pursuing "good" - whatever that happens to be for us that others also recognize as good - we're doing something that's good and worthwhile.
I've lurked here occasionally since my last post and have noticed a decline in forum participation. As a previous moderator and then administrator for a once well-trafficked fitness forum, I too witnessed its decline and eventual demise (after I had left) due to a variety of reasons. There's such a thing as social media competition, just like in the business world, and those social media places enjoying a thriving cyberspace existence shouldn't get too comfortable with their current status because they can be "here today and gone tomorrow" too.
One thing I've learned in all the years is that a forum will thrive so long as its owner constantly posts great content that's current. While you may count on a few posters to be part of the contribution mix, more will be lurkers, thinking they don't have anything to share, or just not willing to make the effort,
I was once a very active forum participant at JP's forum, maintaining a very detailed training journal to share with others. I actually went so far as to greet each new member, and to also share my limited fitness training knowledge and encouragement. This was a time when his forum was thriving, beginning before you showed up. Look at it now. It all boils down to the forum's owner and their effort. Your effort here has been noteworthy, even if sparse at times during periods in which other matters in your life were more pressing.
You'll have new adventures in your life and the freedom closing this down will give you will allow you to devote it elsewhere with great success, such as, for example, your YouTube Channel which seems to be taking a life of its own. This has been my case. While my Pierini Fitness blog, now private, hasn't had a new entry in about one year, I'm busy with the finishing touches on my second book that will be released in early January 2019 at the latest. It's a source of excitement, for me, as I"m sure the many possibilities you explore in your life.
So, until we next talk, take care, be safe and chase the good in your life.
Pax Domini sit semper vobiscum.
Ed Pierini

Doesn't happen anywhere else. The back and forth stuff gets tiring and I got better things to do. Anyway, good luck.
Sorry about all your loses. Honestly I can't hardly write stuff from my phone on this site. My home computer will be down for awhile. Usually when I write on here it either erases everything or adds letters.
Sounds like a great uncle, I was raised Catholic and both my parents were Catholic; both were great parents I was lucky. God bless you Greg, your family and all you do.
