I've read plenty of Mike Joplin's bodyweight exercise methods. To me his methods are pretty simple but have variety. Here is something he said in an interview: " And I never change my exercises. I simply change the way I do them(grip, position of hands, feet or both, speed, body angle, ect..).
He pretty much stayed with basic exercises that involved the planes of motion. Here is a list of his exercises according to one of the articles I read:
Resistance Training Exercises ( All bodyweight exercises except for one)
Pull ups
Inverted rows
Deadlifts ( once a week, 1 set of 3 reps- just to lift something heavier than my body weight once a week)
Chest & Triceps pushups ( feet always slightly elevated)
Leg raises
Ab wheel
Windshield wipers
Bicycles
Squats
Sissy squats
Bodyweight ham curls
Wall sits
I do like this idea of sticking to basic exercises but changing the way we do them.I know some get bored but if You don't, progress is easier to see when you're consistent with certain exercises. My questions to You guys;
Do You stick to certain exercises? What are those exercises? What reasons have You found this to be a good way to go? What have been Your results? Right now I'm in the process of re-evaluating my basic exercise plan. So what is Your list?
I follow the certain method (co-tension/co-contraction) and use different exercises with a stick. They help me to maintain health, sufficient for me strength, muscle mass, and flexibility. That is all what I need in my age.
