I believe Haney was also credited with the quote, "stimulate, don't annihilate."

No, you were right and he talked about this in the bodybuilding TV show he used to have. Haney is a Carolina boy from Spartanburg and was a detention officer in his pre-bodybuilding success years. I never met him, but by all accounts he is a super nice guy.

One thing I did like about Haney, from what I remember reading, is he prefered form and feeling the muscle work over super heavy weights. But again I could be wrong. He was my first exposer to weight training through magizines.

Some years back when he was still riding the success of his first couple of books, John Peterson told me he'd been contacted by Lee Haney's people about doing a book together. At the time (2009?) Lee was doing mostly bodyweight. John's version of the story was that he wasn't interested unless Lee came clean publicly about his steroid use. Whether it was true or not, I thought that was interesting in relation to that article.
That's a good quote.
