One of my friend's is using the workouts from the book "The Action Hero Body: The Complete Workout Secrets from Hollywood's Top Trainer" by Jorgen De Mey. He is doing the calisthenics and using muscular tension resistance (Isometric) for the weightlifting exercises and likes it so far.

He is using the two workouts designed for "While Traveling" and decided to use Isometric/VRT for the weightlifting exercises because he has seen it work for friend's; is using 3 workouts a week. I hope he sticks with this exercise regime for his health and it is a great choice of a book to use.
PS: Just talked to my friend that loves the Gym, as a reminder he uses 20 lbs. weight on the exercise machines and also uses Isometric/VRT. Think he inspired our buddy into trying Isometric/VRT style.
