The title is a little misleading but it has some good / interesting info.

Back in my neck of the woods there were not many opportunities to study any form of self defense. Books, magazines, and down in the basement with my buddies and a set of boxing gloves.
I have in excess of 15 Tegner books. Several are just re-dos. Say what you want about them at that time there was not much out there. His books contained a lot of misunderstandings and incorrect observations. Back then many practiced and taught martial arts had and passed on misunderstanding about those arts. Another draw back was the photography. Some of the techniqques shown look off ballance and impractical. They should have been photographed and explained differently or better. Easy to say not that easy to do.
He was a true martial artist and spent most of his adult life doing his best to promote good martial arts, a pioneer.

Wow - it seemed all so simple back then. The Tegner book is one I have never seen. Bruce Tegner died at a fairly early age - maybe his early fifties. Does anyone know what he died from?
