I use both Acupressure and Reflexology; I have Trigeminal Neuralgia called "the Suicide Disease", because Treatment Providers use just narcotics to treat it and most (nearly all) patients kill themselves. I'd got an infection in my ear visiting a friend in the hospital and saw a Neurologist after 3 bouts of antibiotics and he predicted I get Trigeminal Neuraolgia in 2 years, it took eight years.
My buddy Ron (aka hollyweed on the Transformetrics website) talked me into trying Acupressure rather then use drugs! I'd broken 2 teeth off at the gumline and damaged 14 other teeth; and was scheduled to see a Neurologist. I used Acupressure before for some things but doubted it could treat this disease! It worked the first night! Ron taught me about Electric Acupuncture Pens (sold cheap on ebay) for treating muscular injuries and pain. You use the Acupressure/Acupuncture Points and Acupressure treatment.
I'd also developed an interest in Reflexology years earlier and it to works.
My buddy has TMJ, he uses the Acupressure TMJ exercises when it flares up to control it; and it has not gotten worse in the years since he started. I do the exercises daily and wear a nightguard.
MichaelS: Thank you for your kindness, but I get no pain and stopped breaking teeth; I do the TMJ Acupressure Exercises daily and sleep with a "night guard" just in case.
A nurse told me TMJ many times turns int0 Trigeminal Neuralgia. My buddy has TMJ and uses the Acupressure treatment for TMJ when it acts up. I pray he does not get this disease. My Doctors think I made the right choice.
Reflexology and Acupressure make being a senior citizen so much easier especially coupled with exercise.
Yes MichaelS I use that book; and have many books on Acupressure, Acupunture and Reflexology. Yes I use an Electric Acupuncture Pen for injuries, and the points for acupressure treatment.
The Nadeau Method book might be just what many need! I was told it is used for rejuvenation in Canadian and European Clinics for the Rich. It is a 20 minute a day method.
Thanks MikeyNY! This is the book You're talking about? https://www.amazon.com/Acupressures-Potent-Points-Self-Care-Ailments/dp/0553349708/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1531783714&sr=8-1&keywords=%22Acupressure%27s+Potent+Points%22
Do You have to have the electic pen? Very interesting stuff.
I like Mildred Carter's Reflexology books, hand reflexology, foot reflexology and a third on body reflexology (also called "one touch healing"). My buddy works at Paramount Studios and he noted
the Stars use Reflexology & Acupressure (and Acupunture; electric & needles) as well as other methods.
PS: A Canadian friend turned me onto Reabilitation method from Canada and still popular there and in Europe. Michael Russell authored a book on it "how to regain youth and health with The Nadeau Method" and I bought a copy.
MichaelS: Ron (hollyweed) talked me into trying Acupressure for my illness, I used a book "Acupressure's Potent Points" for the Acupressure jaw points to press and thought it would never work! I was wrong, the book teaches what to do.
I was talking to MD in the hospital while visiting a friend and the MD uses Acupressure on himself and family because it works.
The silly Acupuncture Electric Pen costs $6 on Ebay, and I injured a shoulder over a holiday weekend, and used it on the Acupressure points and rubbed the sore areas ; saw my MD after the holiday weekend and my shoulder was healed! I'm a senior citizen and this stuff makes life easier for me.
MikeNY I feel for you. I'm glad you found something that helps. How did he teach you? Can you post a link that could help someone learn this?
