When we are younger we can smash around heavy weights partake in aggressive martial arts as we get older we need to have more Yin with the Yang. You can still train intensely now and then but working more moderately is often the better option. Little injuries often come and joints wear down. We must modify our training and also years of certain training may lead to over balance which in its self leads to muscle over development and injury. When we realise stretching and working them smaller muscles around a joint becomes more important. Michael as spoken how he trains his shoulders from multiple angles to keep them injury free. I personally have suffered left hip pain due to overdevelopment and imbalance leading to bursas and such. Therefore i need to do specific strength and stretch exercises to keep this area pain free.
