I just bought (two weeks ago) my first set of Indian Clubs, 2 lbs. It was a whim. I like them. I had been using my Bullworker for months and decided to give something else a try. Currently I am using the Art of Manliness workout which is 5-6 movements. I add a swing/deep knee bend to work my legs. They are much easier on my back than the kettle bells. I will check in and let you all know how it is working out. So far so good though. I found a fellow on youtube, from Australia that has several videos and different routines. I am looking forward to this journey.

Daily.
Nice! How often are you working with the clubs?
Yes, a baseball fan. I have followed the A's for almost 50 years. When Oakland is good, it is good for baseball. ;)
I am still using the Indian Clubs. Not as much as I did in May, but still getting workouts in. I am trying to expand my repertoire . There are of course basic movements, some of which took me a day or two to get down. Now I am watching some of the "masters" on youtube and trying to mimic some of their programs. Generally the printed books you find online from the 1860's, etc. when clubs hit the Americas are a bit rough to translate the exercises as they are presented. A bit like cuneiform. I have golfed once this year, and without swining as hard as I used to, am able to put together a pretty good swing with some felixiblity and strength. I am golfing again next week, let us see if I can keep that up.
See you later.
Cool a baseball fan, don't find them to often nowadays. Phillies fan myself since 1978. Anyhow, glad to see this working out nice for You. There is nothing wrong with changing things up sometimes. I did that light dumbbell workout before and enjoyed it.
I do believe they have been beneficial. My shoulders feel better. My shirts fit better. And, doing the deep knee bends, my legs are getting stronger. We have had a torrential spring in the high desert of the Teton ecosystem, but when I have been able, I go outside and swing for 10-20 minutes in a pair of shorts. So, I am getting some sun, and a light tan as well. I still, occasionally, make cranial contact.
I have looked up one of the very old 5 lbs. dumbbell workout that Eugen Sandow did. Maybe in a month I will look into starting that as a change of pace.
Well, time for the A's to play the Royals. You all have a good evening.
Do You feel they are worth to learn for You?
Thanks for the comment. Two weeks in? Some lower back pain that moves into my right hip. That is due to a birth defect that was not diagnosed until 2012? (I have always had back pain in that spot.) Aside from that I have bruises on my shoulders from where my learning curve is still curving. And, I have hit myself in the melon a few times. It kind of reminds me of being in my early 20's and discovering the nun-chucks.
Please let us know how it works. Indian clubs are supposed to be very healthy for the shoulders and rotator cuff.
