Most people can't afford the expensive handguns like Glock, Beretta or Sig Saur for self-protection. Or maybe they an infirmity or injury that prevents them from handling a substantial caliber. Here is a review I did on the Bersa Thunder.

I'll go with you on that Bob. I definitely would prefer 9 mm over .380. I bought that gun for my youngest daughter who was a new shooter at the time. I wanted her to learn the fundamentals of a gun that shot both double and single action, and I liked the safety features of that gun. She got out good on that video though. I bought her another magazine and some self-defense rounds in exchange for the loan.
I really like 9 mm version - THUNDER PRO ULTRA COMPACT 9MM

I stick to 9 mm caliber, as more popular and non expansive, and certainly would purchase this gun, but I already have PX4 Storm Compact, also good handgun for concealed carry: http://www.beretta.com/en-us/px4-storm-compact/
