I just downloaded Tromp Van Diggelen's book on the PDF page. https://www.lionquestfitness.com/pdf-files
Tromp was an interesting character from early physical culture history. He was a friend of Maxick and developed an early form of muscle control. He was also friends with Sandow and George Hackenschmidt. His autobiography was very good and gave a glimpse into the life of Victorian era Europe.
The book itself has some odd ideas on diet. The exercises are more of a yoga style physical development as opposed to muscle building. The model shown was very well built, but as for the time, there was a lot of air brushing going on.
If memory serves he was also the manager of Hermann Goerner's career, or at least that part of it that took place in South Africa. Two really strong men.
I justed breezed through it but it looks interesting.
Hi Bob - I need to re-read Tromp's book. At the time it didn't make a lot of sense to me. Now it probably would. I found this on an old flash drive. As I find other books and course that might be of interest, I will post them as well.
Thank you for posting, Greg. These exercises are really effective. I perform similar exercises with a stick and belt. The stick adds diversity.
