I've been in the process of splitting my YouTube channel into two, with the Lionquest Fitness staying with firearms, self-defense, prepping and 2nd Amendment issues, and Lionquest Exercise being totally devoted to nonapparatus style exercise. I finally got my first new exercise video out on that channel. It is simply a few tricks to enhance some of the classic Charles Atlas arm exercises. There is also a surprise at the end. To kick off this channel I am doing a 100 subscriber give-away of the countdown cards and GB's course on the cards.

Hi DD and Mike. Since it was a demo I did what would have been the last set; which would have been six or seven reps with the isos. Doing three isos at the tail end of a set necessitates keeping the time under tension shorter than if I was doing single contractions. Glad you liked the triceps extension. It really helps me get a better contraction with that simple change.
Onto the biceps brachii and the brachialis. I have a short biceps muscle. With straight up and down curling I lose tension at the top. The biceps is a polyarticular muscle. To quote Strength Training Anatomy by Devalier, "...it mobilizes more than one joint and its action is complex. The biceps brachii can bend the elbow, bring the arm to the thorax, and place the forearm into supination."
You can't do this with weights, but by reaching from across the body, I am getting a stronger contraction and affecting all three of the actions the biceps perform. I am also working strongly the abdominals, obliques, serratus and intercostals when I do this exercise cross body.
Thanks for the blessings on Chloe. She is a little handful. Her mother, my son-in-law and her toddler sister went hiking in the mountains today, and she had a blast. Since she was an infant she has always imitated the exercises I do.

Greg, enjoyed the new video (arms are ALWAYS of interest) and am looking forward to whatever follows along. I followed along with you as you did this - a question - the curls and tris were about 7 reps, the isos about 4 or 5 seconds - was this because you were just going through the exercises quickly or did you use those times on purpose? And - the demonstration of the tricep drill was of particular interest to me - never saw extensions done that way. Re-played it several times, and found that the way you demonstrated worked very well for me. Tris have been a problem for me, maybe you've helped me there. Thanks!
