DT is great training for all ages. However, I avoid Atlas' bodyweight exercises to protect my painful joints. Sticks or/and belts give us possibility to create numerous DT exercises for almost all body muscles. I feel more comfortable and much better if I use these simple tools. However, it may be my personal choice.
