He had muscular arms and shoulders. It looks like he didn't care to much about his stomach look wise. Could have been the abdominal breathing or diet. But the interesting thing is, even though this video shows a form muscle control, self resistance can build a good set of arms and shoulders with work.
That is my guess. There weren't many details with the video. One of the things you see in McFadden's 1904 self resistance book and this video is that he let his stomach hang. McFadden probably practiced a lot of low abdominal breathing.
How old was he there? I would guess 50 or 60 something?
