Yeah right - LOL - but this is an interesting take on a comic book character's workout routine. It is an eight minute or so video. The push-ups, sit-ups and squats can be done, and I've done similar routines daily, but the 10-k run is a different story.
I'll also tell the story about a teacher I know who is into long distance running. She's been running for decades and no spring chicken, over the last seventeen years, I've seen her go from shortening her stride, to wearing neoprene braces on her elbows and knees, and finally maturing to a wobbly, crippled looking walk. Too much of the same kind of training over too many years and lots and lots of joint wear and tear.
Hear is the video.
Fun video Greg and so true what You said. When someone does something of repetitive nature it will eventually cause wear and tear. Some are luckier than others. Most people who are training for performance long term will typically be dealing with some sort of chronic issues.
I've been there work wise and ego wise when it came to exercise. I think one could do certain exercises without changing up if the volume and intensity are lower. Also if they are done sensiblely. I think if we are seeking health and longevity it would be wise to make little changes in exercise selection. I would also say keep Your training in balance. I also think it's important for each of us to be strong but how strong do we need to be?
I think that guy is got the right idea. I did the 100 push ups,sit ups and squat thing everyday. It's actually not a bad routine but as he said done in sets would be better. I honestly would prefer more exercises to balance things out but nothing wrong with that routine if done wisely.
