I got into firearms again after a 12 year absence due to a situation that occurred on my property. Along the way I rekindled a love and a passion for collecting firearms and teaching about firearm self-defense. My background is law enforcement where I spent 19 years before I was offered a job teaching Criminal Justice and Fire and Rescue at a high school career and technology center.

I finally decided, after your advice and lots of research, to go with the Taurus 605 stainless. I went to Dale’s today (I buy all my guns from there) and he had one in stock, so I held it and looked at some others he had too.
The price was a bit high, so I told him I would think about it. As I walked out the door he said he will match any price, so about 20 minutes later I went back and he knocked $30 off the price tag.
Then disaster struck!
Earlier this month, when I started thinking about wanting a snubnose, I remembered my FOID card was broken so I ordered a replacement, which still hasn’t arrived. Unfortunately, upon ordering, my current gun card was voided, so I couldn’t buy the Taurus!
I put some cash down on it and did all the paperwork, so he’s going to hold it for me until the new card comes. In the meantime, I found a nice pair of wood grips on eBay to put on my new revolver when I can finally bring it home. I hope that card comes soon!!! I can’t wait to shoot this new gun and start working toward getting my concealed carry!
After police chasing a suspect on my property in 2013, I also pay more attention to shooting practice. The suspect had shot my neighbor, gave his car up on my property and tried to swim across the creek near my house but was captured. So, everything is possible under moon, and we should be prepared for that.
